A game as complicated as The Day I Tried… needs a powerful engine to make it all happen. We’ve been using Unity3D for a while now and it’s become our favorite game development tool. Recently Unity released a beta of the next version of their development tool – Unity4. One of the cool new features is realtime shadow support for mobile devices.
After spending some time with Unity4 we’ve updated our game to use shadows. Since our last post we’ve also been improving the game world and adding new features (a movie will follow later). Most notably we added humans, improved the water (using Unity’s water pro) and added a dock to our small town.
Here are a selection of game images showing off the new water and mobile shadows.
